Personal Training

Human Machine Athletic Club is a locally owned and managed fitness company. We provide the very best personal training in the Austin and Lakeway areas. We keep things simple by offering three affordable training solutions for our clients: one-on-one, semi-private and small group training. It is our goal to provide high quality, experienced personal training and nutritional coaching to everyone. We strive to accommodate both the busy schedules and unique financial situations of all our clients.

One-on-one Personal Training

Human Machine Athletic Club was created to give busy professionals a great total-body workout every time they step into our gym. Our training studios are clean, climate-controlled and outfitted with the most up-to-date fitness equipment. Our friendly, experienced and certified personal trainers will take you step-by-step through each workout and take the time to explain, not only how to do an exercise, but why we do it. Human Machine workouts are easily modified to challenge both the weekend warrior and someone that may just be starting back on the road to fitness.

Our challenging, total-body workouts focus on improving the 6 key components of general fitness:

  • Strength development
  • Aerobic and anaerobic conditioning
  • Flexibility and mobility
  • Balance and agility
  • Core stability
  • Power development and quickness

Human Machine's special 3-Step Personal Training Program was created for men and women of all ages and fitness levels that want to lose some weight, get stronger, decrease body fat, raise their energy levels and start feeling good again.

Step One: Fitness Evaluations

Before you even start warming up for your first exercise, we will measure your weight, body fat percentage, lean muscle mass, and metabolism using the Tanita Ironman Body Composition Monitor. We like to take these measurements to establish some baseline measurements so that we can monitor your future progress. Every few weeks, you will retake these measurements so that we can determine if we are moving in the right direction toward your fitness goals.

Step Two: Cross-training Workouts - Start burning those calories!

Your total-body workouts will focus on improving the 6 key components of general fitness: strength development, core stability, aerobic and anaerobic conditioning, flexibility and mobility, balance and agility, and power and quickness development. We'll break out all the toys for your workouts: barbells, dumbbells, elastic tubing and bands, medicine balls, sand bags, wobble boards, stability balls and the functional trainer. We'll get your heart pounding with some short intervals on our incline trainer, Concept-3 rower, jump rope, Airdyne exercise bike and agility ladder. Human Machine trainers pride themselves on creating fresh, new and challenging workouts every time you step foot into our training facility.

Additionally, you will need to purchase a Polar FT4 heart rate monitor. This little gadget will record every workout session and give you valuable information about how hard you have worked. It will display how long you worked out, your maximum and average heart rate as well as and the total number of calories you have burned during a workout session. It also keeps good time. Now you'll know if you're working hard enough or if you need to ramp up the intensity of your workouts up a bit.

Step Three: Personal Eating Plan

Your food and exercise log will be the most important tool that you will use in your fitness program. We will watch what you're eating so that we can analyze what foods you eat, your total calorie intake, your ratio of carbohydrates to protein, and the frequency of your meals. After reviewing this information, we can help you make small, incremental changes to your eating plan each week and help you make better eating decisions. We've worked with hundreds of clients over these past seven years and the best success stories have one thing in common - they kept a food journal. It's that simple. We'll also give you the latest articles on nutrition and healthy eating so that you can make informed decisions whether at the grocery store, fast-food restaurant or in front of a vending machine.
